Onboard Drivers
The CodeMeter Stick may be a dongle with its own Smartcard chip. But it is recognized by the operating system as a Mass Storage Device (a USB memory stick).
Your advantage: CodeMeter doesn’t need a proprietary driver, the driver comes with the operating system. This means fewer support calls for you.
Additional Flash Memory
In addition to the inexpensive version, CodeMeter is also available with additional flash memory from 1 to 8GB, with larger memory sizes available as a special order. So CodeMeter can be a dongle and a storage device all in one.
This provides new and unique possibilities. You can deliver your software right on the CodeMeter Stick. Because the dongle security is also accessed via the Mass Storage Device driver, your software can be started directly from the CodeMeter Stick without installation.
Mobile Applications
Your application leaves behind traces related to the operating system, e.g. cookies. Do you want it to be mobile as well? The AxProtector handles this in perfect teamwork with the CodeMeter LaunchPad. You don’t have to worry about it.
Unique Architecture
The CodeMeter Runtime is available for many different platforms. The central component is the CodeMeter Service, running in the background. This service communicates to the hardware using the USB mass storage driver provided by the operating systems. The service also provides the CodeMeter API for the application. All communication through the CodeMeter Service is encrypted.
The CodeMeter Service works at the same time as the network license server. This function can be disabled. The service can be configured with either the CodeMeter Control Center or the browser based CodeMeter WebAdmin. You can configure all settings interactively and monitor and administer used licenses.
